Warranty Guide

Last updated: January 2026

This Warranty Guide explains how our warranties work, what is covered, and how to make a claim.
It is designed to give you a clear, easy-to-understand overview.
For full legal details, please refer to our Terms & Conditions.

This guide applies to all products purchased from WeRChristmas.co.uk, operated by Mail Order Online Ltd.

1. Our Warranty Promise

We want your Christmas products to last for many seasons.
All items come with a warranty that protects you against manufacturing defects and faults.

Warranties apply to normal domestic use only.

2. Warranty Periods

Different categories of products include different levels of cover:

Christmas Trees

  • 3-year warranty for trees purchased after 1 March 2025
  • 12 months for trees purchased before this date

Pro Series & Festoon Series Lighting

  • 2-year warranty

Made-to-order Rope Lights

  • 12 months

All Other Products

  • Standard 12-month warranty

Warranty periods begin on the date of delivery.

3. What Our Warranty Covers

Our warranties cover defects in materials, workmanship, electrical components, and structural integrity.

Examples of covered faults:

Electrical failures or faults in light strings
Transformer or power unit faults
Structural issues with trees, frames, or fittings
Manufacturing defects that prevent normal use

If a covered fault occurs, we will provide:

  • A replacement
  • Or store credit if a replacement is unavailable
  • Or a refund if the fault occurs within 30 days

4. What Is Not Covered

Christmas items are often stored and reused yearly, so normal wear and storage conditions can affect longevity.
For fairness, the warranty does not cover:

Accidental damage (tears, breakage, drops, impact)
Misuse, neglect, or improper assembly
Damage caused by damp storage (e.g., mould, corrosion, rust)
Weather damage outside the products intended use
Commercial or professional use
Normal wear and tear
Burnt-out bulbs where only a small percentage have failed

  • Up to 3% of total LEDs is considered normal (e.g., up to 21 bulbs on a 700-light tree)
Damage caused by incorrect transformers or accessories
    Modifying wiring or electrical components
Cosmetic imperfections that do not affect function
Colour fading on outdoor items over time
Damage caused by pests during storage

These exclusions help ensure fair use and reflect the seasonal nature of Christmas products.

5. Seasonal Storage Guidance (Important for Warranty Validity)

To keep your items in good condition year after year, please:

  • Store items in a cool, dry place
  • Avoid garages, sheds, or any area prone to damp
  • Keep items in their original packaging or suitable containers
  • Do not place heavy items on top of electrical goods
  • Store transformers with their original product
  • Let lights fully dry before storage if used outdoors

Damage caused by poor storage conditions may void the warranty.

6. Warranty Timing & Your Rights

Under UK law:

Within 30 days of delivery

You may choose:

  • Refund
  • Replacement
  • Store credit

After 30 days

We will offer:

  • Replacement, or
  • Store credit if a replacement is unavailable

This does not affect your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

7. How to Make a Warranty Claim

To make a claim, please contact us via the Contact Us page and include:

  • Your order number
  • A detailed description of the issue
  • Photos or videos clearly showing the fault
  • Confirmation of how the product has been used or stored (if relevant)

We may request the item to be returned for inspection.
If a fault is confirmed, we will process your replacement or credit as quickly as possible.

8. Replacement Items

If your item is no longer in stock:

  • We will issue store credit for the product price
  • Credit does not expire and can be used on any future order

If stock becomes available again later, you may choose to purchase the item using your credit.

9. Warranty for Gifts

If you received an item as a gift:

  • You can still make a warranty claim
  • Proof of purchase (order number) will be required
  • Resolutions apply to you, not the original purchaser
