Step-by-step

Step 1 Shape Your Christmas Tree and Add a Tree Skirt

Make sure every branch has been carefully fluffed before you begin adding any decorations. Properly shaping your tree at the beginning creates a fuller silhouette and gives the bauble garlands, picks and sprays somewhere to sit naturally.

To help, you can stand back every few minutes while fluffing to check how the tree is looking from a distance. This makes it much easier to spot any uneven areas that remain.

Once you’re happy with the shape, position your Burgundy Faux Fur Diamond Tree Skirt around the base before the rest of the decorating. Adding your tree skirt first makes it much easier to place neatly around the stand, while complementing the rich burgundy tones used throughout the design.

Step 2 Intertwine the Gold and Burgundy Bauble Garlands

Before adding the bauble garlands to the tree, take your Gold Bauble Garland and Burgundy Bauble Garland and gently intertwine them together.

Make sure the wires cross over one another as you work so the gold and burgundy baubles are evenly mixed rather than sitting separately. This helps create a fuller, more luxurious garland with both colours flowing naturally through the design.

Combining the garlands in this way creates the main structure for the tree, giving you a rich base to build on with the gold leaf picks, berry details and burgundy sprays added later.

Step 3 Add the Bauble Garlands to the Tree

With the garlands intertwined, begin adding them to the tree from the lower branches. Snake the garlands upwards in a loose ‘S’ shape, working around the tree and allowing the baubles to follow a natural, flowing line. Take your time with the positioning and check the spacing between each section as you go.

Leave enough room between the garland layers for the remaining decorations. A slightly relaxed shape will help the finished tree feel full and balanced without looking too perfect or overly structured.

Step 4 Add Gold Leaf Picks

Once the bauble garlands are in place, add Gold Leaf Picks throughout the tree.

Cut the picks down into individual stems, making sure to keep one full Gold Leaf Pick aside for the tree topper later. Place the smaller stems around the tops and bottoms of each garland layer, working them between the baubles so they feel naturally woven into the design.

Alternate the direction of the leaves as you work rather than placing every stem the same way. This helps the gold leaves flow around the garlands, adding texture, depth and a warm metallic finish throughout the tree.

Step 5 Layer with Deep Red Berry Picks

Next, add Deep Red Berry Sprays into the gaps between the bauble garland layers. Work them slightly into the branches so the berries sit among the foliage rather than flat on the surface. Spread them evenly throughout the tree, using them to fill open spaces while adding another layer of rich colour and festive texture.

The deep red tones complement the burgundy baubles beautifully, helping to soften the transitions between the garlands and bring the whole colour palette together.

Step 6 Add Burgundy Firework Sprays

To add more texture and fullness, cut your Burgundy Firework Sprays into smaller individual sections before placing them throughout the tree.

Work the smaller sprays around the bauble garlands and into any remaining gaps within the greenery. Let some sit closer to the garlands while others peek out from between the branches to create a more natural, layered finish.

Step 7 Create a Gold Leaf Tree Topper

Finish the tree by using the full Gold Leaf Pick saved earlier to create a simple statement topper.

Place the stem down through the centre of the top branch until it feels secure. Once in position, gently fan out and shape the leaves so the topper feels full, balanced and connected to the gold leaf details used
throughout the rest of the tree.

The Finished Look

This gold and burgundy Christmas tree combines bauble garlands, gold leaf picks, deep red berry details and burgundy firework sprays to create a rich, luxurious festive look.

The intertwined bauble garlands give the tree its flowing structure, while the gold leaves, berry picks and firework sprays add depth, warmth and texture throughout the branches. Building the design in layers helps each decoration feel considered while still creating one cohesive Christmas display.

Whether you’re styling a living room, hallway or statement festive space, this gold and burgundy Christmas tree theme brings a warm, elegant finish to your home while feeling rich, festive and easy to recreate.
