Are you stuck for ideas when it comes to decorating this Xmas? Or perhaps you’re sick of having the same setup every year. Well, don’t worry we have got you covered as we break down We R Christmas’s 2024 top Christmas decor trends.

Statement Christmas Trees

If you’re bored of the same old look, the same old green, then you might consider using a statement tree this Christmas to stand apart from the crowd. Statement trees are all the rage and are still trending in 2024, and there is a variety of them to choose from.

Pink

Pink trees are great for a softer look, they have an air of calmness about them that exudes a gentle and pristine presence.

White

White trees are a blank canvas that offers a unique landscape for you to experiment with. They are not as radical as the other trees listed because white has the traditional feel of a snow-flocked pine tree. Out of all the statement Christmas trees, white trumps the lot; it by far remains the most popular non-standard-coloured Christmas tree.

Black

Black Christmas trees really bloomed in popularity during 2020 and have continued to see this trend maintained. With black trees, you have a great blank canvas where virtually any colour can be paired with the tree with great results, but white and really bright colours stand out against the black background. A black Christmas tree is a very bold statement, but when done correctly, it can work well with a variety of different interiors. Black trees have the ability to portray both modern and vintage looks.

Blue

A blue Christmas tree is one of the most recent statement trees to come into favour. Blue represents peace and tranquillity but is also, for some, used to represent awareness of mental health issues, especially during what is often considered a stressful period for many.

White and silver are some colours that successfully pair with blue. They produce a very elegant look and are very striking.

Another reason blue trees are trending is that they serve as a great choice for those of different faiths who wish to celebrate the festive period in their own way. In faiths such as Judaism, blue symbolises divinity.

Christmas Theme Colours

Green & Gold

Green and gold offer a very traditional appeal. When you see a large tree adorned with spectacular baubles, it is a very grandiose image. Green and gold are both mainstay traditional colours that have been associated with Christmas for as far back as we can remember. After all, to honour the birth of Jesus, the Wisemen offered Gold as a gift to symbolise his kingship on earth.

Multicoloured

Multicoloured Christmas trees are as popular as ever, so many people tend just to use the baubles they have collected over the years without attempting to stick to a particular theme, so this is a great option for those who wish to mix and max. But if you want to decorate your tree like a professional, then its better to pick a theme and stick to it.

Blue & Silver

Blue and silver themes are popular for creating a timeless and elegant look. They are also great when used to establish a snowy or polar vibe.

Green & Blue

Red & Gold

Red and gold are as popular as ever and once again feature two very traditionally used colours. These two colours really bounce off each other. You instantly get that Christmas feeling when you see a tree decorated with these colours. They are very striking and complement each other well.

Burgundy & Gold

Burgundy and gold are essentially another version of red and gold, but burgundy offers the option of a darker tone and feels much more timeless and grown-up.

Themes

Rustic

A rustic Christmas theme is more traditional and based on natural elements such as wood, wreaths, pinecones, stone, berries and greenery. Often, greens and browns are used as people try to portray a very woodsy look.

Traditional

A traditional Christmas is just like it sounds, a theme based on centuries of classically recognisable decorations and ornaments such as a real Christmas tree or artificial green tree designed to look like the real thing.

Shiny

A shiny theme portrays a very clean and well-presented look and can either be very vibrant and full of colour or very simplistic in nature and minimalistic.

Minimalistic

A theme based on minimalism means you have set out to style your decorations as basic as possible. You won't have fancy, outlandish, or cluttered decorations. Some like to use twig trees in place of Christmas trees that are lush with greenery and fluffy branches.

Nativity

For those who are religious and want Christmas to be a celebration of their faith, the Nativity is always in. Set amongst a backdrop of 3 Wisemen and stable housing Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus people often use softer more natural tones, with soft white light and browns and straw coloured decorations, adorned glistening stars and sparkly silver baubles.

Grotto

A grotto theme is every child’s dream theme. The key is to try and replicate Santa's grotto. These setups often feature decorations that look like presents and have a colour theme based on traditional colours amongst a backdrop of snow. There are plenty of little trinkets that go well with this style, and you can have lots of fun when choosing your decorations.

Realistic Trees

Realistic artificial trees have become a real favourite over the last few years of festivities. They are great for people who want a hyper-realistic tree who want to get the traditional look but without all the added messing about and clean-up required with a real Christmas tree.

Another benefit of using a realistic artificial tree is that it will last for many years to come and you won't have to worry about recycling your tree once Christmas has passed.

Homemade & Personalised trinkets

Homemade ornaments have seen a resurgence as the cost of living rises, so people have taken to creating their own personalised trinkets. These go great with the rustic or traditional themes that are also trending and often provide a touch of warmth to your Christmas tree setup.

Personalised trinkets and ornaments are also treasured gifts that your loved ones can cherish for many years to come.
